Terms of Service

Clear terms for a safer digital experience.

These Terms of Service describe the general rules governing use of Fortera Digital Safety and the responsibilities of users and the service.

Last updated: September 5, 2026

Fortera is a safety tool — not a guarantee.

Digital safety technology can help identify signals and provide useful information, but no automated system can guarantee that every harmful interaction, threat, or unsafe situation will be detected.

Parents, guardians, schools, and other authorized adults remain responsible for making appropriate decisions regarding children's safety.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using Fortera Digital Safety, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and any applicable policies referenced by them.

If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use the applicable Fortera services.

2. Eligibility

Fortera services are intended to be used by parents, guardians, schools, organizations, and other authorized users.

Users must have the legal authority necessary to create and manage accounts, devices, child profiles, or other information associated with their use of the service.

Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of Fortera complies with applicable laws, permissions, and organizational requirements.

3. Accounts and Account Security

Certain Fortera features may require an account. Users are responsible for providing accurate information and maintaining the security of their account credentials.

You should not share passwords or authentication credentials with unauthorized individuals.

If you believe your account has been compromised, you should take appropriate steps to secure the account and contact Fortera when applicable.

4. Guardian Shield and Safety Features

Guardian Shield refers to Fortera's AI-assisted safety technology and related functionality.

Safety features may analyze available information or signals in order to identify patterns or situations that may warrant attention.

Results generated by automated systems may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or incorrect.

No guarantee of detection

Fortera does not guarantee that Guardian Shield will identify every instance of bullying, exploitation, predatory behavior, self-harm risk, inappropriate content, or other potential danger.

No medical diagnosis

Any wellness or emotional indicators provided by Fortera are intended to help guardians notice potential patterns. They are not medical diagnoses, professional assessments, or substitutes for qualified care.

Parent responsibility

Guardians remain responsible for reviewing safety information and determining what action is appropriate.

Certain functionality may depend on operating system capabilities, device permissions, third-party platforms, network availability, or other technical limitations.

Fortera does not guarantee that every feature will be available on every device or platform.

8. Disclaimers

Fortera is provided as a digital safety service intended to assist users.

The service should not be treated as a guarantee of physical safety, online safety, cybersecurity, emotional well-being, or protection from all potential threats.
